West Bank Motorcycle Club Handbook

The West Bank Motorcycle Club got its start at the University of Minnesota under the name 'University Motorcycle Club'. The first meetings/rides were from Coffman Union. Sometime in early 1970 the club moved to the Triangle Bar on Riverside Avenue - the West Bank area. It was at this time that the clubs name was changed to West Bank Motorcycle Club. Eventually the clubs headquarters were moved to the Golden Leaf bar; renamed to Whiskey Junction around 1984. The West Bank Motorcycle Club has been meeting and riding out of Whiskey Junction ever since.

The WBMC welcomes all riders and all brands of motorcycles to join us, to ride and share with us the love of riding.

Political Statement: The WBMC is a non-political, non-sanctioned motorcycle club! We will not ride with, fund or sponsor any other club, organization or fund raising events.

This is your club: We (all WBMC Officers and members) welcome comments, suggestion, questions from all members, guests, and sponsors. Feel free to send stories, pictures, etc to our Editor & Webmaster.

Membership: The WBMC is a non-profit club and all proceeds go to club activities. Membership sign up cards can be obtained from any club officer on one of the rides or contact the Treasure via email. As a member you are promoting the club. If you like to ride with us we urge you to join. Membership starts the day that dues are paid to the day before the first ride the following year. Some member benefits:

• All members will receive a WBMC membership pin.
• Members of the WBMC receive a periodic newsletter.
• Will be invited to the year end banquet.
• Eligible to receive awards and door prizes.
• Patches for the years you have been a 20 ride member,
• Road captain and Club Offices patches.

It is the policy of the WBMC that all monies received from membership, Sponsors, Sales of merchandise will be put into the general fund for the operation of the club. No member will be paid for services or is allowed to profit from the WBMC.

Furthermore... no one is allowed to approach our sponsors using the WBMC name for their fund raiser, political agendas, WBMC parties, etc., unless they are WBMC officers or ambassadors appointed to that task.
